Would you like your SBI blocking account to update your documentation? This is the truth

[ad_1]

Fake news, scams and scams have increased since the outbreak of the new coronavirus pandemic. Recently, there have been widespread claims on the Internet suggesting that the State Bank of India (SBI) is blocking accounts to not update documents. Some users have received an SMS with a link to update the document via online banking.

The message says, “Your SBI back account has been blocked. Please update the documentation on Plz. Please visit the SBI website. Please update on Net Banking https://sbikycupdate.online. “

If you also receive an SMS, don’t forget that it’s a fake. Rebutting the claim, PIB fact checking called it misleading. We also advised users not to respond to such emails or SMS asking for personal or bank details.

“This message claiming that your @TheOfficialSBI account has been blocked is #FAKE #PIBFactCheck. Never reply to emails or SMS asking you to share your personal or banking information,” tweeted PIB Factcheck.

“If you receive a similar message, please report it to [email protected] immediately,” he added.

If you receive a suspicious email and unknowingly provide your personal information and OTP, follow these steps:

  • Please contact your bank or credit card company.
  • Inform local police
  • Report phishing. You can also report to [email protected]. (For other banks, you can contact customer care or email)

Is SBI giving 5 rupees for online surveys?

This is not the first such scam. Earlier this year, a fake website claimed that the State Bank of India offered Rs 5 to 10 randomly selected users to conduct an online survey. But SBI called it fake news.

“SBI has not implemented or endorsed such a gift / lottery scheme. We recommend that you do not click links or share bank details. This attempt is made by each law enforcement agency. We also encourage you to report to us, “SBI tweeted.

Another similar scam made a round a few months ago. “Dear customers, KYC’s SBI bank account has been suspended. Please complete KYC for 10 minutes. Please click this link immediately and be careful.” However, SBI called it fake, We asked users not to share their personal information by phone, SMS or email.
