It is seen in the CCTV footage that two bags full of money were recovered from the accused. One of the bags was kept by the policemen in a separate private vehicle. This private car belonged to Laxmi Singh Chauhan.

7 people including the inspector were accused

Apart from SHO Laxmi Singh Chauhan, there were allegations of involvement of Sub Inspector Naveen Kumar Pachauri, constables Bachchu Singh, Faraj, Dheeraj Bharadwaj, Saurabh Kumar and Sachin Kumar in this whole case. Based on the report of the CO, the SSP suspended all these policemen and a case was registered against them. In this case, the accused Inspector Laxmi Chauhan and a constable had surrendered in the Meerut court. Accused Inspector Laxmi Singh was sent to jail for 14 days in judicial custody.

Laxmi welcomed the order of the court
