With this, millions of rupees are being hacked by hacking their personal information. Meanwhile, similar fraudulent messages are being sent to customers using SBI’s name. If you have received such a message, be alert in time. This is because clicking on the wrong or unknown source can empty your bank account. Online fraudsters are constantly thinking about how to lure smartphone users into their net. For this, they are inventing new methods every day. The message currently being sent to consumers is similarly fraudulent, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has warned.

What’s the message?
Customers are being told, ‘Dear customer, your SBI account has been blocked and you need to update your documents. Visit the bank’s website. Click on the given link to update through Net Banking. ‘ A link is provided in this message.

What did the PIB fact check say?
When the Press Information Bureau of the Central Government verified the veracity of the message, it was found to be false. No such message has been sent by the bank. The PIB fact check said the message was fake. PIB Fact Check also appeals not to reply to mails and SMS asking for your personal information. If you have received such a message, file a complaint at [email protected].
