Google Drive is arguably the most popular cloud storage platform at the moment. Now, it is set to become more user-friendly as Google has announced offline mode on Google Drive. Google announced the update in a blog post, where the company said that users will now be able to access PDF, Office files and images offline on their Google Drive. However, it will also make it mandatory for users to mark their files as “offline”.

Note that users can only access offline mode on their Google Drive through the Google Drive desktop app on Mac or Windows. In addition, users need to turn on “Offline” mode in Drive settings on the web. On the other hand, after installing the app and turning on the “offline” mode separately, users can right click on the file and mark it offline. This feature is made available to all Google Workspace customers as well as Cloud Identity Free, Cloud Identity Premium, G Suite Basic and Business customers. Google is rolling out the feature for personal accounts as well.

Google Drive offers users 15GB of free storage, after which they have to buy Drive space from Google. In India, the company offers monthly and annual plans for more cloud storage. Google offers 100 GB storage space for Rs 130 per month, which goes up to 2 TB storage space at Rs 650.
