Bhubaneswar, Sep 4 (PTI) Legislators of all parties actively participated during the Question Hour on Saturday, the fourth day of the monsoon session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. The first three days of the session were marred by uproar by the opposition. The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress were demanding his resignation over alleged involvement of Law Minister Pratap Jena in connection with the double murder in Cuttack district.

Apart from this, the demand for declaration of drought was also raised in the assembly due to the scanty rainfall in the state. Assembly Speaker S. N. Patra had called an all-party meeting on Friday, after which the members took part in the proceedings of the House on Saturday.

A member who attended the all-party meeting said that the issues of the opposition members would be raised at an appropriate time. During the Question Hour, the House was informed that the State Government is planning to construct 24 new Industrial Training Centers (ITIs) and hostels for working women in five districts.

Responding to a question, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Premanand Nayak said that there are 49 government and 448 private ITIs in the state. He said that the focus of the government is on skill development of the youth, so plans are being made to set up new ITIs to give them employment.
