New Delhi : SBI, the country’s largest state-owned bank, has been consistently striving to provide better services to its customers. SBI has now appealed to customers to link Aadhaar card-PAN as soon as possible. For this, customers have been given a deadline till September 30. Failure to link Aadhaar-PAN by September 30 will disrupt banking services or close the account.

Why is it important to link pan-base?
SBI said in a tweet that the PAN-Aadhar card needs to be linked. If PAN and Aadhaar are not linked, PAN card will be inactive and customers will be hindered in transactions. Also, the bank has already clarified that the absence of PAN-Aadhaar link will also hamper current services.
Follow these steps to link the pan to the base
- To link, first go to Income Tax e-filing portal https://incometax.gov.in.
- The ‘Link Support’ option appears in the Quick Link section on the homepage.
- In the ‘Link Aadhaar’ section, click on the ‘Know Aadhaar-Pan Link Status’ option.
- A new window will open in front of you. Fill in the PAN and Aadhar card details in this box.
- After filling in the details, click on ‘View Link Support Status’.
- After this you will see the status of PAN and Aadhaar. You can also visit https://www.utiitsl.com or https://www.egov-nsdl.co.in to link PAN-Aadhaar.

Link via SMS Aadhaar-Pan
You can also link PAN-Aadhaar via SMS. For this you can UIDPAN in the message and write 12 digit Aadhar number, SPACE 10 digit PAN number and send a message to 567678 or 56161.
