The hospital in Meghalaya, where ATM inventor John Adrian Shepherd-Baron was born in 1925, got an automated teller machine 53 years later. “SBI has set up ATMs at Siron Hospital, where the inventor of ATMs was born,” India’s top creditor, State Bank of India, said on Twitter.

ATM will be H on August 7th by Ramesh RS of CGM (North Eastern Circle). It was launched in the presence of Dr. Roken Nongrum, medical supervisor at Gordon Robert Hospital. SBI appreciates John Shepherd-Baron’s innovative invention.

Access to the on-site ATMs greatly helps patients’ parties and staff, said Dr. Roken Nongrum. “Thanks to the banking authorities for considering our request. ATMs are special because the inventor of automated teller machines was born at this hospital 96 years ago,” said Dr. Roken Nongrum. PTI.

Shepherd-Baron invented the concept of a self-service ATM in 1965. The first ATM was installed at a bank in London in 1967. Shepherd-Baron, an Indian-born Scottish man, died in a Scottish hospital in 2010.
