New Delhi, September 1: The virus SMS is making a misleading round that the State Bank of India (SBI) bank account is blocked. The fake message prompts SBI Bank customers that their account is blocked and the documentation needs to be updated via the link. The widely distributed message also includes a KYC link, asking customers to click to update their documentation via online banking.

If you receive the same message, you need to be aware that it is a fake message and is being sent to trick people into misleading you. Dismissing the false allegations, a fact check by the Press and Information Agency (PIB) stated that the allegations were completely fake. “”This message is yours @TheOfficialSBI Account is blocked #false“, said. Fact Check has issued an explanation that encourages people not to respond to emails / SMS asking them to share personal or bank details. Scam warning! An SMS claiming that your bank account was deposited for Rs 2,67,000 under “Government Yojana” is fake! This is the truth.

The description issued by PIB Fact Check states that if you receive a similar message, you should immediately report it to the banking authorities at [email protected]. This is not the first time such fake news has been disseminated on social media. The government has repeatedly warned people about such false news. People have been warned of such false information spreading on social media.
